What is the number 1 trait of a Sales Superstar?

“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change” -Darwin

Change is inevitable my friends, and never more so than in the world of sales.

Your ability to adapt on a micro level (while in a sales meeting) and on a macro level (over the course of your career) will determine your success.

How we sell today versus 10 years ago is very different.

Yes the fundamentals are the same (remember sales is a science) but the platforms and how we get attention have changed dramatically.

Today any brand that is not using social media(Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc..)to deliver value via content will lose in the long term.

The same holds true if you are a Sales Professional.

If you only use the phone and email as a means to engage with your audience you will lose.

Back in 2007, when you were trying to sign new clients, you would call them, leave a message and send an email.

Fast forward to 2017. You have various platforms like Twitter,Instagram ,and Facebook, where you can actively engage with potential clients around their business needs and interests.

Deliver value with no ask in return!

Too many sales professionals are trying to sell first and add in value later.Stop selling, and provide value upfront.

Back in the day, with less competition and no internet, success in sales was predicated by being aggressive, and not taking no for an answer.

In today’s environment that won’t work.

Consumers have way too many choices, and as a result have all the leverage.

When they catch you trying to sell, they simply move on.

If you are going to get caught selling , please get caught selling value!

The Sales Superstar of today and tomorrow, understands trends and culture.

They are constantly adapting to their new environments, and that’s their greatest secret.
